Production

My name is Enrico Andretta, I'm 30 years old and I'm the deputy head of the press department at Ceramiche Refin.

I joined the Concorde Group in 2014. At the time I didn't know anything about the world of ceramic tiles, but with hard work and commitment I managed to carve out a place for myself in the company. I’ve done all the jobs in the press department: I started as a shift worker, then became a mechanic and finally a deputy department head, a position I’ve held for about three years with great satisfaction.

Currently, I’m in charge of routine machinery maintenance and production change management. My job is to make changes to press components to launch the production of new ceramic sizes. When something unexpected happens like a broken belt or roller I’m ready to take action. In these cases experience is gained in the field, you have to act decisively and quickly, a very challenging aspect of my work.

"I didn't know anything about the world of ceramic tiles, but with hard work and commitment I managed to carve out a place for myself in the company."

I hold my boss in high esteem, a person who has been with me from my first day in the company and to whom I owe much of my growth.

So when the young people who work in my department approach me to ask for some guidance, it’s a source of pride for me to help them become more independent and responsible.

I have to say that at Refin we’re very lucky because all the people who work here push in the same direction. The cleanliness of the environments, mutual respect among the workers, and also the participation of ownership are values that motivate the company's employees to give their best every day.

During the various training seminars organized for staff it’s also possible to engage with professionals from other Concorde Group companies.
By attending these meetings we always learn something new: a more functional machinery arrangement, new working methods, or possible solutions to some common problems.

I think my professional experience shows how important it is to work in a solid industry like the Concorde Group. Growing up in an environment that allows you to make mistakes and learn a trade is very rare nowadays.
